You should have seen the look in everyone’s face when I told them that I decided to enroll in school again to upgrade my job. Among the many education opportunities that I looked at, I was more interested in physical therapist continuing education schooling that was available for me in my nearby area. The fact that I would be able to continue my education and get a better life by attending a school so close to home seemed like the perfect opportunity to me.
I was a physical therapist assistant for a long time and realized that I had gained enough experience throughout my career to upgrade into becoming a physical therapist and open my own clinic. As silly as it may sound, I figured that if I could do all the work necessary as an assistant, then I could learn how to be the big boss and rake in the cash too. In all honesty, looking at physical therapist continuing education opportunities was probably one of the smartest decisions that I have ever made in my life.
Being a physical therapist assistant requires you to be able to assist patients and do the necessary paperwork. Not only do physical therapist assistants attain a lot of experience and knowledge, but they also learn how to handle different types of situation. This is what most physical therapist continuing education courses focus on.
From the beginning, I had decided to upgrade my career one step at a time and boy, I am glad I did. You would not believe how easy it was to actually open up my own clinic after attaining the appropriate physical therapist continuing education credits. With all of the knowledge that I gained from working at a clinic, most of the concepts and technical terms were repetitive in my daily routines. By examining how the physical therapist operated the clinic and the type of service that was provided to clients, I was able to gain a great understanding of what was expected of me. If you are ever a physical therapist assistant, you will realize that being a physical therapist is not that much harder. The main difference is the amount of schooling that is required for each profession.
Physical therapists earn a much larger pay check than physical therapist assistants. After diagnosing and administrating a type of pattern of exercise routines to ease any existing discomfort that a patient has, physical therapists will generally allow their assistants to deal with all of the paperwork and any other hands-on work required for a patient. Once the tedious work of understanding the paperwork is accomplished, it’s easy to head up that career ladder!
It’s easy to take physical therapist continuing education courses when you already have an established base and the schooling just speeds by. It’s possible to even take continuing education while working and the concepts are easy to pick up and apply once you have hands-on experience in the field. It’s a great way to improve your lifestyle and become more successful.
