Physical therapist assistant schooling

I had always wanted to attain a medical degree after graduating high school but I wasn’t so sure about what the options available to me were.

I wasn’t doing well financially after moving out from my parent’s house thinking that it would be easy to support myself but my future was beginning to seem like an overwhelming obstacle. How would I pay for the bills and get a good education? I began to think that I shouldn’t have moved out.

If I was to pursue my doctoral dreams, it would take at least 8 years of studying and training. With the amount of work that was to be expected from each class, I just could not see myself studying and working full-time to support myself.

I didn’t have the financial capability of studying 10 years full-time. I wanted to get a medical degree fast and I was absolutely thrilled when I learned about the physical therapist assistant schooling that was available in my area. The brochure made it seem very promising.

Physical therapist assistant schooling claimed that it would prepare me for a $40 000 minimum job in less than 2 years. On top of that, there were plenty of schools that were offering students help after graduation in looking for a job.

They had the students all hooked up to a financially stable future! It sounded like a dream come true to me. It was a legitimate profession where I could climb up the ladder as I attained more education and I could easily get to the opening positions. If I wanted to go back for more education, I could potentially become a physical therapist.

In comparison to the 10 years that it takes to become a doctor, the 2 years that it would take to become a physical therapist assistant seemed a lot more attainable to me. I could work part-time if I scheduled my classes well and I would be financially set if I took out a student loan! It seemed so easy to me. It was a great way for me to pursue a career while being independent.

Physical therapist assistant schooling teaches students how to become a physical therapist assistant through hands-on training, using actual equipment and experiencing real-life scenarios of the day to day job of being a physical therapist assistant. They even taught us how to do the paperwork required for all of the scenarios that would happen. It was a piece of cake! Class sizes were relatively small and I was able to get all the one-to-one interaction with my professors that I needed. It was awesome!

After the physical therapist assistant schooling, I found a physical therapist assistant office job opening near my home. With the wage that I was earning, I easily paid my bills with extra money to spare. I could go on vacations, buy myself some nice things and go out to eat with my friends every once in a while.

Thanks to physical therapist assistant schooling, my life is doing great now! I didn’t think that I would be able to make it on my own, but now I am independent and capable of taking care of myself. You should have seen my parents’ faces when they realized just how well I am doing lately!
